Making a film is not enough these days and it needs a good marketing strategy to grab the attention of the audience and get the good openings at the box office. The fate of films these days get decided based on their first weekend collections. Thus, it is important for any film to get promoted aggressively.
There will be a panel discussion about this topic in this year's International Film Festival of India (IFFI). Popular producers Shobu Yarlagadda and Siddarth Roy Kapur will take part in the discussion. Noted critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh will moderate the discussion on production, marketing and the distribution of films. The event will happen on November 21st at 11 AM, in Kala Academy, Goa.
Shobu is the producer of Baahubali and we all know how well Baahubali got promoted over all the country. Heavy marketing played a key role in making Baahubali the biggest grosser in the history of Indian cinema.
On the flip side, Siddharth Roy Kapur is another production giant, who earlier headed UTV Motion Pictures. Currently, he is the owner of Roy Kapur Films. Siddharth is the one who bankrolled another blockbuster film Dangal.
It will be a good one to listen to these experts on how to market and distribute the films. Starting today, IFFI will continue till the 28th of November.
