Aasif Sheikh has become a common name in many households now since his appearance in Babhiji Ghar Pe Hain. Much to the actor's delight the show is immensely popular with many viewers and has successfully garnered an audience base. However, in a recent interview Sheik has revealed that his acting career wasn't always such a smooth sail.
After appearing in a few Bollywood films with various side roles Sheikh revealed that he had a bad phase too. Sheikh said that actor Salman Khan helped me get through that time. Salman and Sheik have shared the screen in the 1995 film Karan Arjun. The film was an immense success but Sheikh never became a household star.
In a recent interview he said, "My friendship with Salman Khan goes a long long way. It was the time when Salman’s first film Biwi Ho Toh Aisi and my film Yaara Dildara released. Since that time we have been friends. He is like a family friend. Salim uncle (his father) is very fond of me. He loves me a lot. Salman also respects and loves me a lot."
He also said that he thinks working in the tv business is much more secure and he likes his current position.
Aasif further added, "There are times when we don’t meet for months but whenever we meet we are on the same page. I really really appreciate Salman as he got me a couple of good films when I was going through a very rough phase. It’s a great friendship between Salman and me."
