Kappa is the first film production venture with the FEFCA Writers Union as a production partner. To raise funds for the welfare of its members, the Writers' Union is launching this initiative in association with Theatre of Dreams, a film production company partnered with Dolvin Kuriakos, Jinu.V Abraham, and Dileesh Nair.
The film, which was to be directed by Venu, later found Shaji Kailas. The film is based on the novel "Shankhumukhi," written by Indu Gopan. The screenplay of the film is by Indu Gopan.
