“Being a celebrity kid is not an advantage, it is a curse;” Actor Madhavan talks about the controversy comparing Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan with his son Vedaant.

Madhavan says he does not want to fuel the controversy over comparing Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's son with his son Vedaant. "No one thinks about how much social media memes hurt people," Madhavan told Manorama News on Tuesday.

Memes comparing Aryan Khan and Vedaant have been circulating on social media since his arrest in a drug case. Madhavan was reacting to this.

“We turn news about fathers and sons into news or memes. But they do not think about who is hurting and how much is hurting. I do not want to fuel those discussions. All fathers are proud of their children. They do not want to see their children go through pain.

Only 0.01% of Indians use Twitter. But the whole world is thinking about what people are doing in it. Only a small percentage is on Twitter. That is not India. If you understand that you will not have to think about the pressure of social media.

My son has already become a celebrity. But it is not an advantage, it is a curse. Because a lot is expected from the children of celebrities. So it should not be considered as a blessing but as a curse. They will have to prove it. I compare him to me every day.

Fortunately he is a swimmer, not in the film industry. Even so, owning one is still beyond the reach of the average swimmer. Because he is my son. So he is always told not to equate success with fame. Success is the result of hard work. Fame is the result of that success;” said Madhavan.

Meanwhile, Madhavan’s new film 'Rocketry: The Nambi Effect' is all set to release. 'Rocketry: The Nambi Effect' tells the life of astronaut Nambi Narayanan. The film will release on July 1 in theaters across the world in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
