After a brief scene in the Mahesh Bhatt movie Aaj (1987), Akshay Kumar made his formal acting debut in 1991 with Saugandh. In 2022, he will have spent 31 years working in the Hindi cinema industry. In the past 31 years, Akshay has had 8 releases over the Fourth of July weekend. He is currently preparing for his ninth, the Aanand L. Rai-directed Raksha Bandhan. The actor has had many hits over the Republic Day and Independence Day weekends throughout the years. He hopes to keep it up this year with Raksha Bandhan.

The third movie for the Khiladi franchise will be released on August 11. The first two were Dhadkan (2001) and Toilet: Ek Prem Katha (2017). The mentioned eight Akshay flicks have made a combined amount of Rs 700 crore throughout the course of this weekend. To reach Rs 1000 crore with 10 films, he would aim to cross the Rs 800 crore mark with Raksha Bandhan over the Independence Day weekend. Undoubtedly reach the Rs 1000 crore mark with his next release in the same period in the upcoming two years.

The ironies don't end there. Because Akshay, Bhumi Pednekar, and Zee Studios all worked together on Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, which was released on the same day. Mission Mangal, Gold, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Rustom, Brothers, Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Doobara, and Dhadkan are just a few of his eight notable films. At the box office, Raksha Bandhan's marketing campaign kicks up in the first week of August. He returns to India after declaring the Jaswant Singh Gill biopic's shooting period complete. Aside from the Independence Day holiday, the Raksha Bandhan, Parsi New Year, and Janmashtami holidays are celebrated during the film's opening week. It was directed by Anand L. Rai. The eagerly anticipated Laal Singh Chaddha, starring Aamir Khan, will also be released on the same day.
