SP Hosimin, who worked as an assistant to Shankar and has directed films such as February 14, Aayiram Vilakku, and the yet-to-be-released Sumo, is set to make his debut as a producer. Niroop of Bigg Boss Tamil fame has been cast as the lead in his first production venture, Rainbow.
The film's producers, which will be directed by Hosimin's associate Vivek Kaiba Pattabhiram, stated in a press release, "Bigg Boss Niroop will appear in the film alongside seven other heroines. While Simran Raj will play one of the seven female leads, the team intends to cast six popular names as the other heroines. Mime Gopi, Manobala, Charles Vinoth, and others will appear in the supporting cast."
Rainbow is said to play an important role in the film. "The script for this fantasy comedy will be racy, and it will be produced on a large scale," according to the release. The film's music is by Subhash Anand, and the cinematography is by Vinoth Kumar.
The film's production began yesterday in Chennai with a puja. Special guests included cinematographer-director Ravi Varman, Ayalaan director R Ravikumar, R Madesh, Niroop's fellow Bigg Boss Tamil contestants Abhinay and Suresh Chakravarthy, and Japanese businessman Kurinji Selvan.
