Bollywood star Swara Bhasker criticizes BJP leaders for insulting the Prophet. Swara tweeted that she hopes the BJP will celebrate the embarrassment of the country at the international level. The criticism came from sharing Indonesia's tweet against blasphemy.

Despite the removal of BJP leaders from office following the incident, the Gulf countries have stepped up protests. Qatar's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraiki has called on India to apologize for its hurtful remarks toward Muslims. In a letter to Deepak Mittal, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has also stated that it rejects practices that are contrary to moral values and principles. In addition to the GCC countries, many other countries, including Indonesia, Jordan, and the Maldives, have come out in protest. Pakistan and Afghanistan have taken a stand against India.
