Megastar Chiranjeevi scored a massive flop with Koratala Siva's Acharya. The failure hurt him big time as he had teamed up with his son Ram Charan for the first time in his career. Both the critics and audience panned the film badly and the production house ended in massive losses.
Seeing this debacle, the megastar decided to take a safe zone and opted for a remake. He chose to remake Lucifer which was a political drama and a big hit in Malayalam. Mohan Raja came on board to direct this film. Hindi superstar Salman Khan plays a cameo in this film.
The prerelease business has also been locked at a simple and safe price. As per the trade pundits, the rights of the film in both the Telugu states have been locked at 65 crores. The prices have been kept low and if the film becomes a hit, the above-said amount is a cakewalk for the megastar's range.
The time has now come for Godfather's big release on October 5th. The promotions were quite slow, but the makers pushed the pebble and managed to generate decent buzz for the film in the last few days. All the team needs is a good word of mouth and solid reviews on day one. Will that happen or not, let's wait and watch.
