Pathaan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, is one of Bollywood's most anticipated films for next year. Very few films have been successful in Bollywood after the COVID-era crash. Even Akshay Kumar, whose producers always give him a minimum guarantee, cannot repeat his earlier success. After a gap of four years, it is the Shahrukh Khan film that is keeping Pathaan in line with the industry's expectations. But now a section of social media has come up with a boycott call against the film.
The makers released a video song from the film the other day. This song stars Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles. The boycott call against the film on Twitter was based on the color of the bikini worn by the heroine in a scene from the song Besharam Rang. Deepika wears a saffron bikini in one scene. And the campaign against the film on social media is accompanied by the line "Besharam Rang" (shameless color). Most of the tweets are from pro-Sangh Parivar profiles. VHP leader Sadhvi Prachi and others have tweeted this tag. Meanwhile, the song has already garnered more than 2.1 million views.
The lyrics of the song were penned by Kumar. Lyrics in Spanish are written by Vishal Dadlani. Vishal and Shekhar composed the song, which was performed by Shilpa Rao, Karalisa Monteiro, Vishal, and Shekhar. Featuring Shah Rukh Khan in a stylish getup, the song features Deepika Padukone with beautiful steps. The action thriller film is being directed by Siddharth Anand. The release of the film is on January 25. Apart from Hindi, Pathan will also hit theatres in Tamil and Telugu versions.
