Rahul Roy, who became a youth sensation after his role in the musical romantic film Aashiqui has suffered a brain stroke. The actor was shooting for his upcoming film LAC- Live the battle in Kargil. His brother has confirmed the news to the media and said that Rahul has suffered a brain stroke due to extreme weather conditions in Kargil. He has been taken to a private hospital in Mumbai where he's currently being treated in ICU.

 
In an interview earlier, Rahul had spoken about his sabbatical from work. "I walked away and that was my choice. Industry ka kuch Lena dena nahi tha (The industry had nothing to do with it). Whether it is a privilege or whether it is a curse, I came into the industry not because I was seeking to be a star or an actor, he had said. Adding further, "My growth as an actor had stagnated. You’re doing the same role again and again, and in that time, everybody’s perception is ki isko yehi karte raho (make him do the same thing). It was a combination of a lot of things."
 
Aashiqui was the debut film of Rahul Roy in which he had worked with Anu Aggarwal. The two received much popularity after the film as it was a massive hit
