Channel 4 will air the class film We'll Meet Again to boost morale amid the COVID-19 outbreak.

Channel 4 to air We'll Meet Again

Channel 4 has announced that it will be airing the classic film We'll Meet Again on Saturday. This was a last-minute adjustment to the Easter weekend special. The film stars the famous and beloved actress Dame Vera Lynn. Actress Vera Lynn was popularly called Britain's Forces Sweetheart during the Second World War.

 
The film will air during tea time on Saturday - perfect for the whole family to watch it together. We'll Meet Again follows the tale of a young dancer. The dancer is trying her best to make it as a dancer in the city of London. However, her singing that attracts people's attention. The young dancer reluctantly decides to give singing a shot. Her reluctant decision shoots her to fame overnight and she becomes a star.
 
Channel 4 decided to air the film after Queen Elizabeth addressed the nation on Sunday.
 
During her special address, the Queen praised Britain’s “national spirit” amid the coronavirus crisis. The Queen evoked wartime memories by reassuring those “feeling a painful sense of separation from their loved ones” to take comfort in the fact “we will meet again.”
 
A Channel 4 spokesperson said that the changes in the schedule to air We'll Meet Again was made in response to the Queen's message. “We feel the film could have special resonance at a time when people are separated from friends and family for an indeterminate amount of time," said the spokesperson.
