Deepika Padukone is finally returning from a long break from Bollywood. After her last film, Padmaavat, Deepika is going to star in the biopic of an acid attack survivor, Laxmi Agarwal. The film is titled Chhapaak and directed by Meghna Gulzar.
The first trailer for the film launched earlier today on all social media platforms. It has already become the number one trending video on YouTube India. In the trailer, we can see Deepika's character struggling with the initial attack and later learning how to fight through it. The trailer also highlights the brutality of the attack and showcases the fear most women face on a daily basis.
The trailer also shows the weakness of the judiciary system. There are also glimpses of family and friends supporting her through the fight in the trailer.
Deepika herself shared the trailer on Instagram and said, "Rarely do you come across a story where you do not need an entire narration to decide if you want to be a part of a film or not. What is even rarer is to not be able to articulate and put into words what you feel for the film and its a journey... Chhapaak is all of that and more for me... Presenting the trailer of #Chhapaak."
