These days, Indian movies are having a great run at the Chinese box-office. We have seen films like Mom, Dangal, and Andhadhun doing exemplary performances in China. Now, another Indian film shows its prowess in the world's largest populated country. It is 2013 Malayalam hit Drushyam. But Drushyam didn't get dubbed in China, rather got remade which makes this success more special.
Titled as Sheep Without A Shepherd, this Chinese Drushyam is having a phenomenal run at the box-office over there. Made on the family emotions, this film has got connected to the Chinese audiences instantly. Drushyam is the story of a father who tries to save his daughter from a murder case. The core emotional values make this film a universal success.
The original version got directed by Jeethu Joseph and had Mohanlal as the lead. Later it got remade into Tamil with Kamal Haasan, Hindi with Ajay Devgn and Telugu with Venkatesh. All the remake versions have also performed well at the box-office. Now, even the Chinese remake is having a good run. Sheep Without a Shepherd released on December 13th. It collected 168 million dollars till now in China and emerged as a blockbuster over there. We have to see how many other records will the film break in the coming days.
