Chinmayi's fans show support, want her back in films

Chinmayi Sripaada's voice has helped many people overcome the lockdown blues. And she single-handedly lifted everyone's spirits as she hosted a live-in-concert on Twitter spaces. On May 16 at 7 pm, Chinmayi started her concert on the micro-blogging platform where she took in several requests for songs, spoke to her fans about a variety of topics including her ban from Tamil films, #MeToo accused Vairamuthu, need for sex education among children and some experiences with music directors. During the spaces, her followers trended #WeWantChinmayiBack on Twitter saying that she deserves a career in Kollywood.

Chinmayi was banned by Dubbing Union head Radha Ravi and she has a blanket ban in Kollywood after she exposed both Vairamuthu and Radha Ravi's predatory behavior. She was overwhelmed by the support she gained on Twitter yesterday. She wrote, "I am truly grateful to those who popped into the Spaces yesterday. Sorry to those who were disappointed about Requests not getting accepted. I was genuinely not able to. I didnt realize this became an India trend. Truly grateful for the kindness. Much much love (sic)."
