Reports suggested that Chiyaan Vikram suffered a heart attack on Thursday, and the reports came out yesterday that he had been hospitalised and undergone an angioplasty. Vikram's son Dhruv Vikram shared a post on Instagram to update everyone about his father's health and also thrashed the 'false reports'.
He wrote, "Dear fans and well-wishers, Appa had mild chest discomfort and is being treated for the same. He did not have a heart attack, as reports falsely claim. We are pained to hear rumours to this effect. "
Dhruv added, "That being said, we request you to give our family the privacy we need at this time. Our Chiyaan is fine now. He is likely to be discharged from the hospital in a day. We hope this statement provides clarity and trust that the false rumours will be put to rest." Fans are now relieved to know that their favourite actor is out of danger.
Chiyaan Vikram is one of the leading actors in the Tamil film industry. He was last seen in Karthik Subbaraj’s Mahaan. Two large-scale projects, Ajay Gnanamuthu’s Cobra and Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan, are scheduled for release later this year. Vikram was supposed to attend the teaser launch of Ponniyin Selvan, which is scheduled for 6 PM today. Ponniyin Selvan will be released theatrically on September 30th this year.
