On July 8, Chiyaan Vikram's fans were in for a huge shock as reports of the actor suffering heart attack did the rounds on social media. Other reports suggested that the actor had viral fever. However, sources in the hospital revealed that Vikram complained of uneasiness and underwent angiogram.
His manager, Suryananyanan, took to Twitter to share an update regarding Vikram's health. Due to his sudden illhealth, Vikram will not attend the teaser launch in Chennai. His managed had informed the Ponniyin Selvan team on July 7. Chiyaan Vikram is now stable and will be discharged soon.
Vikram's manager Suryanarayanan wrote, "Dear fans and wellwishers, Chiyaan Vikram had mild chest discomfort and is being treated for the same. He DID NOT have a heart attack as reports falsely claim. We are pained to hear rumours to this effect. That being said, we request you to give him and the family the privacy they need at this time. Our dear Chiyaan is fine now. He is likely to be discharged from hospital in a day. We hope this statement provides clarity and trust that the false rumours will be put to rest (sic)."
