Chunky Pandey expresses his joy as his movie Aankhen completes 30 years this month. The actor believes that the film gave a boost to his career, saying that "If Chunkey Pandey is ever going to be remembered, Aankhen will be a big part of it." The shooting of the film was as adventurous as the movie was exciting, with the casting happening overnight. Pahlaj Nilhalani, the producer, called Anees (Bazmee), Govinda, David (Dhawan), and him to his home and said that he is starting a film in a month, and he wanted them to get the actors' dates, and create a script.
Pandey shares that Nilhalani had already decided on the film's release date, which was April 9, and was firm about it. The cast, including Bazmee, Govinda, Kader Khan, and others, had a fantastic time on set. Pandey recalls being given a monkey to act with while everyone else had double roles. The monkey was a big star who used to fly with six assistants and stay at the hotel Sun and Sand. Pandey jokes about the monkey being paid more than him and Govinda.
Besides the comedy scenes, the movie's chemistry between Pandey and Govinda was also appreciated. The two actors started their journeys almost together, with Govinda coming in 1986 and Pandey joining the industry in 1987. Pandey admires Govinda's acting skills, saying he is the best actor in the world. He is a fabulous dancer, and an eye candy who is impossible to ignore when he is on screen. Pandey says that he tried to match his steps with Govinda's throughout the movie.
