Cinematographer Ramchandra Babu dies at 72.

As reported by industry sources veteran cinematographer Ramchandra Babu passed away on Saturday at the age of 72. In his long career with various South Indian film industries, Babu is perhaps best known for his work in Malayalam films like Nirmalyam, Swapnadanam, and Chamaram.

Ramchandra Babu handled the cinematography for over 130 films in his career. He came straight out of FTII Pune and worked with a lot of famous film directors like John Abraham, IV Sasi, Bharathan, Maniratnam, and Sasikumar, to name a few.
Babu has also won various prestigious awards for his work in the film industry. He won 4 State awards in Kerala. Even the chief minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan spoke of him in high regard while remembering him and his work.
Ramchandra Babu's last work is Professor Dinkan, a Malayalam film that he directed and is set for release on Feb 7, 2020. The film is about a magician's trick that goes wrong and affects a lot of people as a result. His contribution is also present in famous films like Nirmalyam (1973), Swapnadanam (1976), Chamaram (1980), Adaminte Vaariyellu (1983), and Yavanika (1982).
