Complaint Against Prithviraj’s Kaduva; High Court Asks Censor Board To Take A Decision

Prithviraj starrer Kaduva was scheduled to release in theaters on June 30. However, the release was postponed following a complaint by Jose Kuruvinakkunnel, a native of Pala. He alleged that the film was defamatory to him and his family. Now, the High Court has asked the censor board to take a decision on the complaint after watching the film.

Jose had earlier lodged a complaint with the Censor Board. However, the petition was filed in the high court as no decision was taken on it.

Jose Pala is also known as Kuruvinakkunnel Kuruvachan. In the movie, Prithviraj's name is Kaduvakkunnel Kuruvachan. The legal battle between Jose and an IPS officer was big news in the media at the time. According to Jose, Ranji Panicker had approached him to make a film with Mohanlal or Mammootty on the subject. But for some reason, it did not happen.

Jose now alleges that Janu Varghese filming Abraham as Kaduva is an invasion of his privacy. The petition was heard by Justice VG Arun. The Justice Censor Board has been instructed to look into the matter and make a decision. Only then will the film receive a censor certificate.
