Suriya is going through a rough time in his career as his last couple of films failed to garner much attention from the audience. On top of it, the films did very average business at the box office. Hence he is now pinning all his hopes on his upcoming film, Soorarai Pottru, directed by Sudha Kongara Prasad.
The shooting of Soorarai Pottru had wrapped up and the film is currently in the post-production phase. Soorarai Pottru movie bases on the life of Air Deccan founder GR Gopinath. As the film is gearing up for a grand release, Suriya is also busy listening to scripts for his upcoming films.
We had earlier reported that Suriya is in talks with director Vetri Maaran. Today (December 21), in a surprise announcement, producer Kalaipuli S Thanu announced that he will produce a film that has actor Suriya and director Vetri Maaran. The film could go on floors sometime next year.
Kalaipuli S Thanu of V Creations took to Twitter and wrote, "After the tremendous success of Asuran, director @VetriMaaran will be teaming up with @Suriya_offl for the first time in #Suriya40 @theVcreations is happy and proud to produce this film. - S.Thanu (sic)"
