Controversial Malayalam Actor Vinayakan Joins Rajinikanth's 'Jailer' Cast
‘Jailer’ will begin shooting in Chennai shortly. Vinayakan was embroiled in a controversy for his allegedly sexist comments at a promotional event for his Malayalam film 'Oruthee,' for which he later apologised on his Facebook page.
Rajinikanth's 'Jailer' began filming yesterday, and the producers shocked fans by unveiling the actor's first glimpse. According to the latest reports, Rajinikanth's 'Jailer' would star a controversial Malayalam actor. Vinayakan, a prominent Malayalam actor, was previously embroiled in controversy for his statement at a promotional event for his Malayalam film 'Oruthee,' for which he later apologized on his Facebook page. Vinayakan is rumored to have been cast in a key part in 'Jailer,' and he also joined the cast yesterday. A scene with Rajinikanth and Vinayakan will also be shot at the police station site over a few days.
The brilliant actor is poised to return to Tamil with 'Jailer' after nine years because his film 'Dhruva Nachathiram' with Chiyaan Vikram has been delayed for a long period. Vinayakan has also appeared in the Tamil films Thimiru,' 'Silambattam,' 'Ellam Avan Seyal,' and 'Siruthai,' as well as Dhanush's 2013 feature 'Maryan.'
Meanwhile, Shiva Rajkumar, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, and Vasanth Ravi have confirmed their roles in 'Jailer,' and will begin filming shortly. The first filming of 'Jailer' is scheduled to take place in Chennai, with the team later relocating to Hyderabad for the main schedule. The soundtrack will be composed by Anirudh Ravichander, while the action scene will be directed by Stun Shiva, who worked on the stunts for 'Akhanda.'
