Court grants interim stay on Chinmayi’s dubbing union ban

Singer and popular dubbing artist Chinmayi Sripaada called our lyricist Vairamuthu for sexual misconduct as part of the #MeToo movement. She also helped many women to come out with stories that exposed the predatory behavior of people.

In one of the stories, she had exposed actor Radha Ravi, who is the president of Dubbing Union. Following her involvement, Chinmayi was banned from the Union and was name-called for exposing Radha Ravi.

Chinmayi filed a case against her ban and yesterday, the Madras High Court has granted an interim stay on the ban. Further, Radha Ravi and his associates are ordered to respond to the Court on March 25.

Chinmayi states that the battle is still not won yet and that she has a long way to go. A couple of months ago, the union had asked her to pay Rs 1.5 lakh along with an apology letter to get her reinstated with the union.
