With the lockdown, all tv show and film shoots have been on hold for the last couple of weeks. The halting of shoots has had determinant effects for the daily wage workers and filmmakers. Now, the FEFSI Union leader has addressed the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy in an open letter. FEFSI Union Leader Selvamani has requested the government to allow the production of films and TV soaps in an open letter.
In the letter, the union leader Selvamani has said that the association has done its best to help the daily wage workers during this time of crisis. The association has raised funds to help the daily wage workers. The FEFSI devised a plan to help them out. Many stars including Sivakumar, Suriya
, Karthi, Sivakarthikeyan, Rajinikanth
, Prakash Raj, Vijay Sethupathi, Yogi Babu and others have been helping by providing money and essentials to the FEFSI members. Selvamani says that the workers might face severe problems if the status quo does not change.
Thus, Selvamani has requested the government to allow the post-production like recording, re-recording, and dubbing for films and serials. This he says will provide work for almost 40 percent of FEFSI members. Selvamani says that if allowed, all workers will adhere to the safety precautions and regulations laid down by center and state governments.
