Sun television channel has snapped up the rights of Superstar Rajinikanth's Darbar for a huge sum.

Superstar Rajinikanth is confident about the success of his upcoming film Darbar. Starring Nayanthara and Suneil Shetty, the film has filmmaker AR Murugadoss at the helm. The film's supporting cast includes Prateik Babbar, Yogi Babu, Nivetha Thomas and Sriman in supporting roles.

Darbar is gearing up for the grand release across the globe. Earlier, the commercial film was supposed to release on January 10. Since two big Hindi films Chhapaak and Tanhaji: The Unsung ruler are going to hit the screens on the same day, the makers of Darbar have advanced the release date to January 9.
Now, the latest buzz is that popular channel, Sun TV, has snapped up the rights of Darbar for an exorbitant price. The audio launch of Darbar which took place on December 7 at Nehru Stadium in Chennai and it was telecasted on the same channel.
Rumors stated that the film is a political venture. However, AR Murugadoss denied it and said that Darbar is a proper commercial film. The trailer of the film released on Monday and portrayed Rajinikanth as the energetic and ruthless cop Aaditya Arunasalam. The film might have Rajinikanth in two roles.
