During a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, David Beckham spoke about how Victoria and him met.
David recalled moments from his football matches back in 1997. He revealed that he first spotted Victoria at one of his matches. But she had been with her manager and bandmate Sporty Spice, ie., Melanie Chisholm.
He said. “We knew of [the Spice Girls], obviously, because they were pretty big at the time, and I was just establishing myself in the Manchester United team.”
He also added that his wife had 'obviously' been his favorite Spice Girl and said, “might be a bit awkward if (she) wasn’t.” Then he said. “I didn't get to talk to her that day, but then the week after, she came back up to Manchester to watch another game.”
This time, knowing he could not let his chance slip, David said. ‘She'd had a couple of drinks, so I decided, ''Why not?'' I'd try to get her number.’
“We talked for about an hour in the player's lounge. And she'd actually got the train up that day, so she wrote her number down on her train ticket, which I still have.”
As the crowd melted, Jimmy said. “And here you are 20 years later.”
“Twenty years later, and four kids later.” David added. The couple has four children together. Brooklyn, 20, Romeo, 17, Cruz, 15, and their eight-year-old daughter Harper. The Beckhams got married in an exquisite ceremony at Luttrellstown Castle in Ireland in July 1999.
He added that Victoria and him will complete 21 years of marriage in July.
Fallon also shared a video which Victoria posted in which she trolls her husband for his love for Lego.
Defending himself, David said. "I am a little kid. I love Lego. It calms me."
