Deepika Padukone is one of the few Bollywood actresses who has spoken openly about her struggle with depression. In 2014, when the actress won the battle with her mental health situation and came out stronger than ever, she decided to do something for others struggling with similar conditions. This is when she decided to start her own foundation called 'Live, Love, Laugh'.
 
As Deepika awarded at the Crystal Award in Davos, she addressed the battle with mental health and began her speech with, "In the time that it has taken me to accept this award, the world has lost one more person to suicide." Then the actress talked about some hard-hitting statistics about the same which left everyone speechless in the audience. She even recalled her days when her mom helped her overcome depression and made her seek medical help.
 
Talking about Deepika's work, she recently released film Chhapaak was highly hailed by the audience and critics. The film based upon the real-life story of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, the film also starred television heartthrob Vikrant Massey in the lead role.
