Deepika Padukone celebrated her younger sister Anisha Padukone’s birthday. Celebrations took place in Bengaluru on Sunday. Glimpses of the small gathering are out now. Earlier in the day, she also took part in the 25th-anniversary celebrations of revered Indian badminton player and her father, Prakash Padukone’s badminton academy.
In videos from the birthday celebration, both the sisters got dressed in white outfits. There are a number of cupcakes instead of the usual cake. As others sing Happy Birthday, Deepika helps light the candles.
Earlier in the day, Deepika posted a heartwarming note for her dad along with two throwback pictures of him and wrote: “Pappa, Your contribution to Badminton and Indian Sport is immeasurable! Thank You for your dedication, discipline, determination and years of hard work! We love you and are proud of you!Thank You for being you! #prakashpadukonebadmintonacademy #ppba #25years.”
Deepika recently announced her next project. It is a Hindi remake of the Hollywood film The Intern. Rishi Kapoor will co-star with her. Her last release was Chhapaak, the Meghna Gulzar directorial. The film attempted to essay the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. The film faced controversy after Deepika visited JNU before the film’s release to show her solidarity with the protesting students. Due to this, the IMDb rating of the film took a fall with people downvoting the film in large numbers.
In a video shared on Twitter by a fan club, Deepika is sending a message to her haters. “Unhone meri IMDb rating badli hai, mera mann nahi (They have changed my IMDb rating, not my mind).”
