Arundhati needs no introduction to Telugu film audiences. This 2009 horror-thriller was a raging hit at the box office. It also won many awards as well. There were rumors about its Hindi remake for a long time now. However, nothing got materialized all these years. Now, we hear that things have fallen in place and everything is set for the Hindi remake. The buzz suggests that Deepika Padukone will star in the Bollywood remake of Arundhati.
According to the sources, star producer Allu Aravind has bought the Hindi remake rights of this film. He will produce it along with Madhu Manthena of Brat Films. Apparently, the makers are holding talks with Deepika Padukone to play the lead role in this movie. Once Deepika signs the dotted lines, an official announcement about the project will be out. The original version featured Anushka Shetty and Sonu Sood in the lead roles.
Allu Aravind is slowly expanding his circuit in Bollywood. He is already bankrolling the Hindi remake of Jersey. He has also announced the ambitious project Ramayan 3D. Now, he is all set to remake Arundhati. Deepika's addition will be a huge plus for the film. The actress is currently working for Prabhas' 21st film which is being directed by Nag Ashwin. Deepika also played an extended cameo in Ranveer Singh's upcoming film 83. She was last seen in Meghna Gulzar's directorial film Chhappak.
