The song Current Laga Re from the movie Cirkus, featuring Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, was just released. Speaking at the event, Rohit Shetty confirmed that Deepika Padukone will be featuring in Singham 3.
The launch of the song was attended by Deepika, Ranveer, and director Rohit Shetty. They were seen engaging with the media at the launching ceremony. Rohit Shetty revealed that he is currently working on Singham 3. He added that Deepika Padukone has embraced his cop world and would portray the female cop in the film.
On the occasion, Rohit Shetty revealed that he is frequently asked who will portray the female cop in his future film Singham 3. He announced that Deepika Padukone will star in the movie, and that production will start the next year, in 2023. “We are making Singham next. Everyone kept asking me who is the lady cop in my universe. So today, let me confirm that Deepika Padukone will be the lady Singham, the lady cop in Singham 3. We start shooting next year,” he said.
Ranveer Singh cited Deepika Padukone's portrayal of Meenaamma in Rohit Shetty's Chennai Express as one of her finest performances. He added that he was eagerly awaiting Deepika and Rohit's reunion. “Deepika’s best performance for me is Meenaamma from Chennai Express. She has done so many great films, but this one is just special. I can’t wait for Rohit Shetty and Deepika to team up on a feature film”, Ranveer Singh remarked.
Simmba, Sooryavanshi, Singham, and Singham Returns are all part of Rohit Shetty's cop series. Ajay Devgn plays the title character in the Singham film series. He portrays a daredevil cop named Bajirao Singham. Ajay Devgn and Deepika Padukone are working together for the first time on screen in Singham 3 thanks to Rohit Shetty. The film is set to begin production in mid-2023.
