A few weeks ago, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh were spotted leaving to Bengaluru before Maharashtra went into lockdown to combat the second wave of the novel coronavirus pandemic. Now, reports suggest that Deepika's father and badminton player Prakash Padukone had tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Along with Prakash, Deepika's mom Ujjala and sister Anisha Padukone have also tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Reportedly, Prakash Padukone has been admitted to a private hospital in Bengaluru and is likely to be discharged later this week.
Vimal Kumar, friend, and director at Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy (PPBA_ told Times of India, "Around 10 days back, Prakash, his wife (Ujjala) and second daughter (Anisha), they developed symptoms and got themselves tested and the results came out to be positive. They got themselves isolated but after a week Prakash's fever didn't come down, so last Saturday, he was admitted to a hospital here in Bengaluru. He is okay now. All his parameters are fine, his wife and daughter are at home and he too will be hopefully discharged in 2-3 days." It is unclear if Deepika is still in Bengaluru or not. She recently posted about the importance of mental health during the pandemic.
