Dhanush's Hollywood debut 'The Gray Man,' is planned to open in select cinemas in the United States and the United Arab Emirates on July 15th before streaming on Netflix on July 22nd. Dhanush is now in the United States promoting the movie.
The actor was praised for his action-packed antagonist role of Avik San and his quick wit and humor during the press conference following the screenings. When questioned about his Hollywood debut, the multitalented performer said, "I don't know how I landed up in this picture," eliciting laughs from all sides.
Matt Neglia penned, “The Russo Brothers' THE GRAY MAN is a strategically aggressive assassin action flick. Ryan Gosling's austere harshness contrasts with Chris Evans' devilish charisma. Not as good as Mission: Impossible or John Wick, but still a satisfying bit of popcorn entertainment”.
Courtney Howard, a top cinema critic, praised Dhanush, calling his scenes in the film "ruthless." She wrote on Twitter, “The action sequences in The Russo Brothers' 'TheGrayMan' are relentless and well-crafted. A clash of brains and brawn. Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans have great chemistry (and sleazebag facial hair!). Ana de Armas is both badass and beautiful”.
According to Rama's Screen, "The Gray Man" is the best summer action film for 2022. Adrenaline-pumping and very enjoyable! Ryan Gosling was a total badass. "I enjoyed every second of Chris Evans' delectable ruthlessness."
