Dhanush's Jagame Thandhiram to release on June 18

Director Karthik Subbaraj, producer Y Not Sashikanth, and actor Dhanush joined hands for a film titled Jagame Thandhiram. Though the film's shooting was completed much before India went into lockdown in 2020, it is yet to see the light of the day. Initially, the makers of Jagame Thandhiram were sure of releasing the film in theatres. However, the uncertainty of audience turnout during the pandemic made producer Sashikanth decide otherwise. He signed a great deal with Netflix and sold the streaming rights to them for a whopping price.

This did not go down well with actor Dhanush. Since Sashikanth made up his mind about Jagame Thandhiram's OTT release, he had a major fallout with Dhanush. Now, Netflix has announced the release date of Jagame Thandhiram. The film will release on the OTT platform on June 18. A few months ago, the OTT platform released the film's teaser which went viral on social media. Dhanush plays the role of Suruli, a notorious gangster. Aishwarya Lekshmi, James Cosmo, Sanchana Natrajan are some of the stars in the gangster film.
