Vijay Sethupathi was recently in the news after a video of him getting attacked by a drunk man at Bengaluru airport surfaced online. It has been reported that Vijay Sethupathi wasn't attacked but his manager was attacked. Later, the airport officials held the drunk man and asked if they want to press charges against him. However, Vijay Sethupathi and his manager decided not to press charges against him.
A statement of Vijay Sethupathi is now doing the rounds. The statement read, "A man approached me while I was waiting for a flight to Bangalore. He approached me in an unstable state. I said I would talk later. Then, he raised his voice and said, 'You are also my caste as I am also an actor. But contrary to his claims, I did not say anything about the nation or spirituality, and also about our divine Pasumpon Ayya, who considered Tamils as his life. Then, I accepted his apologies considering his unstable condition. Fans know me well, and how I behave with them. But if he continues to slander me, I wouldn't hesitate to take appropriate action." However, Vijay Sethupathi's publicist confirmed that Vijay Sethupathi hasn't shared any statement regarding the said incident.
