Director Hari decides to slash his remuneration by 25 percent to help the producers; Can Telugu directors also do the same?

Director Hari is one of the most established directors of Tamil cinema. Along with his 'Singham' film series, many of his films were remade into Tamil & Hindi languages. Most of his works are typical south commercial films. Due to his penchant for such films, the director got a nickname as "the aruva director." Aruvaa means sickle and it exists in most of his films. COVID-19 affected many daily wagers and most of the underprivileged communities. The celebrities are contributing and funding their contribution to the needy. Director Hari also decided to reduce 25% from his usual remuneration for his next film Aruvaa. Aruvaa stars Suriya & Raashi Khanna. The director will use the money to help the needy.

 
In the official press statement released by him, Hari wrote, "Film industry and the people depending on it can flourish only when the producers are doing well. Keeping in mind the current damages caused by the coronavirus, I have decided to reduce 25% of my salary for Aruvaa." With the hit of the COVID-19 and the whole country is practicing the lockdown & social distancing to reduce the spread.
 
Since the economy of film traded has taken a big toll, reduction of salaries and remunerations of the reputed crew and top-billed stars was being discussed, which are crucial sections of the production & promotion.
 
Actors Vijay Antony and Harish Kalyan announced that they will voluntarily take a 25% reduction in their salary. Following them, filmmaker Hari has also announced the same.
