Director Selva Raghavan turns 43 today; Let us have a look into his career

One of the few filmmakers who brought new wave cinema into the Tamil film industry is Selva Raghavan. With his unique style of filmmaking and gritty form of storytelling, Selva Raghavan has gained a cult following among the audiences. The director celebrates his 43rd birthday today and on this occasion, let us have a dive into his career.

Selva Raghavan is the son of noted Tamil director Kasthuri Raja. His younger brother Dhanush is a star actor in the country. Selva made his entry into films by working as a writer for the 2002 film Thulluvadho Ilamai. He made his directorial debut with the 2003 film Kaadhal Kondein. It was a super hit at the box office. Selva scored a blockbuster with his second film 7/G Rainbow Colony. Its Telugu version 7/G Brundavan Colony was also a blockbuster at the box office. In 2006, he made cult film Pudhupettai which is still considered one of the best films in Dhanush's career.

After that Selva Raghavan made memorable films like Aadavari Matalaku Ardhale Verule, Yuganiki Okkadu, and Mayakkam Enna. Of late, he has been failing to score big at the box office. His last film NGK was also a flop. All his fans are expecting him to make a grand comeback. We wish him a very happy birthday and hope he makes a successful comeback soon.
