Top OTT platform, Disney+ Hotstar has acquired the post-theatrical rights of Ravi Teja’s ongoing project, Khiladi. The OTT giant shelled out big bucks for the digital rights of the Ravi Teja starrer.
Khiladi is directed by Ramesh Varma and the film is billed to be a stylish action thriller. The film features Dimple Hayati and Meenakshi Chaudhary in the female lead roles. It is being mounted on a lavish scale.
The director of Khiladi, Ramesh Varma recently said the film is being produced on a budget in excess of Rs 55 crores. If this comment is to go by, the Khiladi is the costliest project in Ravi Teja’s career. The makers are yet to officially announce the release date, but reports suggest that the film might be released by the end of this year.
Coming back to the OTT agreement, it is heard that Khiladi might premiere on Disney+ Hotstar 40 days post its theatrical release. The OTT premieres date will be out only after the film’s release, as one would expect.
Disney+ Hotstar had also bagged the digital rights of Nithiin’s Maestro and Venkatesh’s Drushyam 2. However, both these films are skipping theatrical releases and are premiering on the platform in a month or so from now.
