Disney is on the way to make a live action Inspector Gadget film

After producing live-action versions of Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King, producers at Disney are eyeing another favorite. Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich, the producers behind Disney's Aladdin have recently hired Mikey Day and Streeter Seidell. Known as writers on Saturday Night Live, Day and Seidell are to write a script for a readaptation of the clumsy robot inspector, Inspector Gadget.

The show aired and got extremely popular with kids in Northern America and Canada featured the aptly named Inspector Gadget. With the help of bionic parts the show revolves around him solving mysteries. His arch enemy, Dr. Claw is also supposed to make an entry into the new live action film. As there isn't much else known about the film, it might just be another project taken up by Disney for their upcoming streaming website, Disney plus. The writers Day and Seidell are also working on another Home Alone film for the streaming website. All of these films are being produced under the Rideback banner.
