A. Sreekar Prasad is undoubtedly the numero uno editor of the Indian film industry. He is the man behind the editing of many successful films. In a career spanning over 36 years, Sreekar Prasad has edited various films across multiple languages. In fact, he is the only editor to work in 17 languages and he received the Limca Book of Records for the same.
Sreekar Prasad shared a picture of the certificate from the Limca Book of Records the other day, which is for the films edited in most languages. The certificate read, "A. Sreekar Prasad (b. 12 March 1963) from Chennai, Tamil Nadu, has edited films in 17 languages- English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Odia, Assamese, Bengali, Punjabi, Nepali, Marathi, Sinhalese, Karbi, Mishing, Bodo, and Pangchenpa."
Sreekar Prasad started his career with the 1989 Telugu film Simha Swapnam. During the initial stages of his career, he had worked predominantly in Telugu cinema and later started to work in other languages too. Sreekar won the National Award eight times, for the films Raakh, Raag Birag, Nauka Caritramu, The Terrorists, Vanaprastham, Kannathil Mutthamittal, Firaaq, and a Special Jury Award in 2010 for the films Kutty Srank, Kaminey and Kerala Varma Pazhassi Raja.
Sreekar Prasad is now editing films like RRR, Prabhas 20, Indian 2 and Ponniyin Selvan.
