The Catholic Congress has demanded that the government ban the films of director Nadir Shah. The Catholic Congress has accused Nadirshah of insulting Christians by naming his new films. The films are Jayasurya’s Eesho and Dileep starrer Keshu Ee Veedinte Nadhan.
They suspect that the naming is a continuation of attempts to discredit Christians. The Catholic Congress also demanded an investigation into Nadirsha's financial sources.
The Catholic Congress leaders why they do not want the films to be named Eesho and Keshu. “Every Christian sees and worships Jesus as God from the day he is born until he dies. The movie can be named as it pleases. When a film is made under that name, every reason behind it will be discussed in the future;” Catholic Congress leaders pointed out.
They also said how the Malayalam alphabet ‘sha’ used in both the films becomes offensive for them. “on the future people will say ‘Eesho said so’, or ‘Eesho showed so’. Keshu also has the letter ‘sha’ in it. They made it a laughing stock by changing it into ‘sho;’” said the leaders.
The Catholic Congress has demanded that the government ban both films. The Catholic Congress said if not they would hold a protest in front of the secretariat on Wednesday.
Earlier Nadirshah said that he would not change the name of the films. He added that he is ready to face the consequences as well. But later director Vinayan had shared that Nadirshah is ready to change the name of Esho. The director is yet to make a statement on the recent press release.
