Ellen responds to criticism over her pictures with George W. Bush

Holding on to her nature, Ellen DeGeneres posted a reply to some recent criticism in her show. The news erupted after she appeared at a football game with former President George W. Bush. After which many were quick to make fun and criticize the pairing. As they pointed out Bush’s conservative presidency compared to Ellen being a lesbian star.

Ellen responded to this in the most fun-loving way when she pointed out that not all her friends feel and think the same way she does and that’s okay. Instead of hitting back hard, Ellen also shared a tweet celebrating their friendship that read, “Ellen and George Bush together make me have faith in America again.”

The daily talk show host also spoke on how she thinks people have forgotten that we are all different people and that it is okay to be different. Ending on a positive note, DeGeneres said, “When I say, ‘Be kind to one another,’ I don’t only mean the people that think the same way that you do. I mean be kind to everyone.”
