Enna Solla Pogirai Hero Ashwin Kumar Apologises For His Controversial Speech

Ashwin Kumar rose to fame with his performance in Cooku With Comali 2. He was flooded with opportunities from films and managed to sign Enna Solla Pogirai with debut director Hariharan. The film will release in theatres on December 24. Ahead of the film's release, the trailer and audio were launched recently. At the audio launch, Ashwin Kumar's speech became a huge controversy. He said that he has a bad habit of sleeping through the narration if he doesn't like the story. He said that he listened to stories from 40 directors and slept through them all. Ashwin's speech was called arrogant by many netizens.

Speaking to the media, he said, “I was absolutely nervous as this is my first big event. I hadn’t prepared any speech. I didn’t intend to disrespect any of the directors, who narrated stories. I never imagined that my speech would backfire this bad. However, it was unintentional. I exaggerated the numbers. I haven’t listened to 40 stories before. We all come up with random numbers when we talk to friends or relatives. I shouldn’t have taken the same liberty on the stage. I’m sorry to hear that my words were misunderstood by some but my friends comforted me.”
