Superstar Mahesh Babu turns 45 today. The fans of the actor had kicked off the virtual birthday celebrations days in advance. On the special occasion, there is a strong buzz in the industry that Mahesh's 2011 blockbuster film Dookudu will have a Hindi remake! Sources say that Eros Intentional has bagged the rights for a massive sum. The production company is planning to take the remake to the floor sometime next year after adapting the script to address a Hindi speaking audience.
“After Pokiri, Dookudu is the among the most loved films of Mahesh Babu down South, and the premise stands a potential to be remade into Hindi. Back in the past, the remake of the film was planned with actors like Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn, but things didn’t materialize. However, finally, it’s set for a Hindi remake with a top star,” a source told.
Sources say that Eros Intentional has not finalized on the matter of who will direct the remake. An in-house team is working on the script as of now. “It’s too early to name the director at the moment, but once things come closer to being locked, the cat will be out of the bag,” the source added.
The blockbuster flick Dookudu followed the life of IPS G Ajay (Mahesh Babu) as his faces off against the mafia. The film was one of the biggest hits that Telugu cinema had seen. The film was also a comeback for Mahesh who was stuck in a box office slump for a couple of years. The news of a possible Hindi remake sounds interesting. We have to wait a while to get more details about the remake.
On the work front, Mahesh Babu is gearing up to star in Sakaru Vaari Paata. The film sheds light on the issue of bank fraud.
