Karnataka government announced extreme vigilance in Karnataka following the death of actor Puneeth Rajkumar. The government has ordered the closure of all theaters in the state following reports that fans may be violent.

 
Fans have gathered in front of the hospital where Puneeth was admitted. Puneeth died at Vikram Hospital in Bangalore following a heart attack.
 
His brother and film star Shivaraj Kumar and film star Yash were with Puneeth at the time of his death. Many people, including Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bomma, are paying homage to Puneeth.
 
Puneeth suffered a heart attack while exercising in the gym this morning. He was rushed to Vikram Hospital in Bengaluru but doctors confirmed the death at noon. Puneeth was 46 years old.
 
Puneeth made his acting debut in the movie Appu. After the success of the film, the actor was popularly known in the film world as Appu.
 
Puneeth Rajkumar is the son of Rajkumar, a unique actor in the Kannada film world. Puneeth has won the State Award for Best Actor twice and the National Award for Best Child Actor in 1985.
 
He entered the film industry as a child actor. Puneet won the National Award for Best Child Actor for his role as Appu in Bettada Hoo.
 
Popularly known as the Powerstar, Puneeth Rajkumar was undeniably one of the best hero’s of Kannada. Puneeth had recently wrapped up the shoot for the film 'James'. He was all set to start working on the new project 'Dvitva' as well. His recent release was the film ‘Yuvarathnaa’.
