Rajinikanth is currently filming for his forthcoming Tamil film Jailer in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, and fans have flocked to the location to catch a peek at him. This is his first collaboration with filmmaker Nelson. A new video showing Rajinikanth's car surrounded by fans near Jaisalmer fort appeared on social media.
Several fans can be seen flocking around the veteran actor's automobile in the footage. While some approached his car to take selfies, others asked him to exit the vehicle if possible. Rajinikanth responds by waiving to the crowd. He also rolled down his window slightly to wave.
Some police officers were stationed on the scene to control the fans as they approached the vehicle. Several fan-shot videos have also surfaced on Twitter.
Rajinikanth plays a prison guard in Jailer. The film was shot almost entirely inside a real-life prison. Along with Rajinikanth, it also stars Shivrajkumar, Mohanlal, and Jackie Shroff.
Sun Pictures, which is financing the film, surprised fans with photographs of Jackie Shroff from Jailer on Sunday. After 36 years, he has reconciled with Rajinikanth. The two previously collaborated on the film Uttar Dakshin.
If everything goes as planned, Jailer will be released in theatres this Diwali. Anirudh Ravichander composed the music for the project.
Meanwhile, Rajinikanth will shortly begin production on Laal Salaam. The film will be directed by his daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth. He will appear in the film for an extended cameo. Aishwarya Rai returns to directing after a seven-year hiatus with Laal Salaam. The film is said to be about cricket and communism, stars. It will star Vishnu Vishal and Vikrant in prominent roles.
On November 5, last year, the project was launched with a puja ceremony. Aishwarya uploaded photos from the ceremony on her Twitter account. She wrote,
