Fans push for awarding Sonu Sood the Padma Vibhushan

Actor turned philanthropist Sonu Sood is in the headlines again. This time, it is not for his philanthropic works or his upcoming projects. Recently, fans of the actor took to the Twitter space to trend #PadmaVibhushanforSonuSood while sparking discussions about how the actor deserves the honour. The Padma Vibhushan is the second-highest civilian award following the Bharat Ratna in India.

Sonu Sood has done a lot to help those in need in recent times. From arranging buses for migrant workers to helping with COVID-related emergencies. Sood has become a household name for his philanthropic works. Recently, the actor also announced that he will be providing scholarships to IAS aspirants. Netizens believe the actor deserves recognition and praise. Actor and comedian Brahmaji also chipped in to recommend the actor for the award a couple of days ago. Meanwhile, Sonu Sood has been working on making sure that oxygen cylinders are available for the masses. He recently revealed that he will be setting up 18 oxygen plants in India. On the work front, he will next appear in Megastar Chiranjeevi's Acharya. Acharya, which is set in the backdrop of the Naxal movement, was to hit the theatres on May 13th. The release now stands postponed due to the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic.
