Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap recently released the Netflix original film Choked: Paisa Bolta Hai. Many critics and fans have already showered the filmmaker with praises about the film. Kashyap has made a unique name for himself with films like DevD, and Gangs of Wasseypur. Now in a recent interview with Huffington Post, Anurag Kashyap has revealed further insight into the working behind his film DevD.
Anurag Kashyap told Huffington Post that he doesn't have very pleasant memories of working with actor Abhay Deol. Deol helmed the lead role in DevD. DevD is still considered by many as Deol's best work. However Anurag Kashyap himself was not very happy with Deol's work ethics.
Anurag Kashyap said, "It was painfully difficult to work with him. I don't really have great working memories with him. And haven't talked to him much since I finished shooting."
"He wasn't there to promote Dev D. He dissed the film and crew a lot. He was gone a long time. It was because of something he was grappling with emotionally and personally and never talked about. He also felt betrayed by me about which he has never spoken to me ever," the director added.
Meanwhile, actor Vicky Kaushal has praised Anurag Kashyap for his work behind the film Choked. Kaushal has commended Kashyap for keeping politics aside from the film and said he was shocked to see a happy ending in one of his films. Choked tells the story of a middle-class woman who must find her way out of her financial trouble soon after the demonetization crisis.
