Despite the many rivalries that plague the Hindi film industry, very rarely does a filmmaker openly accept that one of his films was a mistake. In a recent social media post filmmaker, Hansal Mehta broke this trend when he said that he regrets making his 2017 film Simran. The film starred Kangana Ranaut in the lead role. Hansal said that while everyone makes mistakes, he has certainly learned from his past mistakes. The director also compared his decision of backing the film with supporting the Anna Hazare movement.
I supported him (Anna) in good faith. Like I later supported Arvind. I don't regret it. All of us make mistakes. I made Simran.
