Every year, MAMI brings up a few films on women's strength and empowerment. This year, it is Flatland which falls in this category. Directed by Jenna Bass, this film portrays the life of three women who are stuck in various films.
It is a story of a woman who runs away from her husband on the day of marriage, a lady detective who tries to free her boyfriend from a murder case and a pregnant girl who gets cheated by her boyfriend. All the subplots are woven beautifully into the main story and made the film a good thriller.
Also, the movie suffers a slow narration. The director wantedly slowed the narration since he wanted the audiences to travel with the characters until the end. Also, it would have been nice if the duration of the last fifteen minutes of the movie is cut down. Jenna Bass is the director of the movie Flatland.
Thus, it is getting several accolades at the festival.
