French Director Taunts Pawan Kalyan Over Jalsa Re Release
French filmmaker Jerome Salle was earlier involved in a spat accusing a Pawan Kalyan movie of plagiarism. The director wondered whether 'Jalsa' was also copied from somewhere else
Few will forget the ugly feud between French filmmaker Jerome Salle and Pawan Kalyan's 'Agnyaathavasi' filmmakers. The former accused Trivikram Srinivas of stealing scenes from Jerome's French film 'Largo Winch' and using them in 'Agnyaathavasi.' Even though the film was a box-office flop, its creators were plagued by legal issues until they were reported to be financially settled.
Pawan Kalyan fans are planning to re-release his superhit 'Jalsa' in a record number of 500+ theatres on his birthday, breaking Mahesh Babu fans' previous record of re-releasing his superhit 'Pokiri' in 350+ theatres.
When French director Jerome Salle came across this re-release poster with a record number of theatres, he poked it, saying"Cool! Do I have to bring a gift? Like a script for example".
Fans are said to be upset, as if Jerome Salle is going to release the original film from which 'Jalsa' was lifted, and if he does, it will deflate all the hype they have been building for the past few days to celebrate PK's birthday grandly.
However, the 2008 action comedy film 'Jalsa,' starring Pawan Kalyan, Ileana, Parvati Melton, Kamalanee Mukerji, Mukesh Rishi, and Prakash Raj, is said to be an original script written and directed by Trivikram Srinivas and produced by Allu Aravind. Devi Sri Prasad composed the music. The film was shot by two cinematographers, KV Guhan and Rasool Ellore, and edited by Sreekar Prasad.
The film will be re-released in a remastered 4k version on September 2nd, coinciding with Kalyan's birthday.
