Funeral of veteran Bollywood actress Nimmi got held last evening in Byculla area of Mumbai

Veteran actress of Bollywood, Nimmi has passed away in Mumbai a couple of days back. The 88-year-old actress ruled the Hindi film industry during the 1950s and 60s. She died due to the prolonged illness. She breathed her last in a private hospital in the Juhu area of Mumbai. Nimmi's funeral got held the other day in Rahmatabad cemetery in Byculla.

 
Her close family members have attended the funeral and paid the last rites to the actress. Bollywood actors couldn't attend the funeral due to the ongoing lockdown of the country. Only NImmi's close relatives and family members were present at these final rites which happened around 4 pm yesterday.
 
Nimmi was born as Nawaab Bano. Nimmi is her screen name which got given by legendary actor Raj Kapoor. The actress starred in many memorable films like Aan, Sazaa, Bhai Bhai, Kundan, Pooja Ke Phool, Deedar and Barsaat. She acted alongside iconic actors like Raj Kapoor, Dilip Kumar, Ashok Kumar, and Dev Anand. Love and God was her last film. After leaving films, Nimmi married to writer-director S. Ali Raza. The veteran director passed away in 2007.
 
Bollywood celebrities like Rishi Kapoor, Dilip Kumar, and Lata Mangeshkar have paid condolences on the death of Nimmi. Rishi Kapoor posted, "RIP. Thank you, Nimmi aunty for all the blessings and love for Bobby on its premiere release. You were part of the RK family. Barsaat was your first film. Allah aapko jannat naseeb kare. Amen."
 
Dilip Kumar's wife Saira Bhanu shared her memories with Nimmi and mourned the death of the latter. She posted, "Dilip Sahab and I are feeling a deep sense of personal loss at the passing away of our beloved #Nimmi ji."
